The Greater Sudbury Police Service will host an Information Session entitled "Truth for Teens". The presentation is another component of the police services Provincial Anti-Violence Intervention Strategy on illegal gangs.

The Information Session scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 20th 2010 will be held at the Sheridan Auditorium of Sudbury Secondary School. This session is open to members of the public – youth, parents, youth workers, educators, etc.

Rick Osborne, the featured speaker connects with his audience by discussing his life as a former gang member and his 23 years in the prison system. Truth For Teens evolved from Rick's desire to speak the truth about drugs, crime, and gang life. Ricks real life experiences provide an accurate portrayal of gang life and its associated risks, which often contradicts the glamorous images portrayed to youth through music, television, and movies.

Rarely does someone survive Rick's past with both the ability and the motivation to make a difference in so many young lives.

Please consider putting this date in your calendar as we strive to understand the challenges of some of our young people.
