Student Council
Every year Lively District Secondary School elects the members that make up the following years Students' Council.
The Students' Council consists of 8 executive positions along with the student class representatives. Among the variety of dances and social events that they put on for the student body, there are amusing video dances, a fantastic semiformal, a 30-hour famine, and buyouts where you can buy yourself out of a class or two in order to see a Hawks hockey game or a special band or entertainer that is scheduled to come into the school.
The students' council also makes theme days like a-hug-for-a-hug day where every student and staff member get a hug necklace and hug people for strings. There are candy grams sold, gourmet lollipops, matchmaker quizzes and many other events.
Although they spend much time preparing activities for the students in the school that is not their sole purpose. The students' council, your students' council, acts as the voice of the students, your voice! Any ideas, concerns or problems that you have can be brought to attention at a parents council meeting.
Some members of the students council are sent to CSLC, a leadership conference where they learn a lot about what needs to be done on a students council.
The following positions are available:
- Presidents
- Senior Vice Presidents
- Junior Vice Presidents
- Treasurers
- Secretaries
- Publicity Coordinator
- Social Convener
- Environmental Coordinator
- Ontario Secondary Students' Representative
- Teacher Advisor
